Following record crowds at the 2013 event, we are excited to once again host our world renowned Highland Games, which officially kicks off the P&O Ferries Dalriada Festival.
The estate will come alive with the sound of our giants, AKA strongmen, battling it out to be crowned Highland Games Champion 2014. Over two days courage, passion and pride will take centre stage as the sounds of heavy hammer throwing, putting of the Causeway Stone (28lb) and a tug-o-war fill the air. The clash of the strongmen kicks off on Sunday 13th July with Lord Antrim opening the event at 11am.
Across the two days, visitors will be treated to top class food demonstrations with celebrity chefs (still to be announced) following on the footsteps of previous chefs including Jenny Bristow, Paul Rankin, Paula McIntyre, Ian Orr and the Fabulous Baker Brothers. Also on the menu, and due to popular demand, the World’s ONLY Chic Sheep Fashion Show will make a welcome return to the Highland Games this year – if you think you’ve a fashionable sheep then get their glad rags on and bring them along!
The Highland Games at Glenarm Castle also offers an array of many different attractions and activities including numerous music and dancing stages, performing arts, fine foods, displays, childrens entertainment, arts and crafts, helicopter pleasure flights and much much more.
We look forward to welcoming you to Glenarm on 13th and 14th July!
