Earlier this year we were thrilled to have Dominic West, unveil the latest addition to the Walled Garden, an obelisk made from local oak.  West, star of hit US series, The Wire, is married to garden designer Catherine Fitzgerald, who over the past few years has redesigned the top half of the Walled Garden, creating a series of ‘rooms’ inspired by fruit trees.  The new Obelisk now sits at the top of the garden in the Apple Orchard.  It was designed by local architect Jill Lambert and built by local oak craftsman Corin Giles.  Every year we try and introduce something new and exciting to the garden and we are delighted with our oak sculpture for 2011.
